For those Soque River lovers who want to get a good dose of pulled pork and smoked chicken, and meet UGA legend Vince Dooley, plan to attend The Soque Roast scheduled for Friday, September 30 at 6:00 PM near the Batesville community.
The Soque Roast is a primary fundraiser for the Soque River Watershed Association and is held on the property of Marlan Wilbanks off Old Chimney Mountain Road in Clarkesville Georgia. Come and join association members, local business people, river lovers, and Coach Dooley for this celebration held along the headwaters of the Soque River.
This year’s annual event will feature a Pig Roast dinner, Springer Mountain Farms smoked chickens prepared by Hawg Wild BBQ, locally crafted wine & beer, and a silent auction of local art, furniture, and river-related goodies. Tickets are $75 per person, and all proceeds go towards projects to protect the Soque River.
For tickets and information, call 706.754.9382 or visit the SRWA website where you can also purchase tickets by email.
